On Thursday, I woke with a now-familiar bump on the roof of my mouth. I wasn't feeling ill, however, and it didn't spread throughout the day, so I didn't phone the doctor. I spent a lot of time and energy fighting a dry mouth all that day and the next night, and when I woke Friday it hadn't spread, but it was definitely still there. So I called the doctor. And? Of course! Out of the office until January! Meh.
In lieu of finding out what it is and getting antibiotics, I blasted myself with juice, juice, juice, water and juice. And also, echinacea, vitamin C, and daily vitamins. And this morning, without ever having gotten really bad, the redness which had creeped up my throat to halfway across my mouth, has creeped back down. Yay! I think I killed it!
Actually, with all the juice and smoothies and water I've been drinking, I think I peed it out. I've never peed so much in all my life. It almost ruined RotK!
Which I saw last night, with Kev and Al and Shauna. Very good. It veered from the story I know and love in a couple of crucial places, which distracted me slightly, but mostly I was nodding and smiling and "in" it. I need to see it again, of course.
Today I'm obstensibly cleaning my apartment. Well, I tidied the bathroom and got rid of extraneous crap. Then I swept the kitchen floor and tidied up my leftover candy-making mess, and then I made the best smoothie I think I've ever had - fistful of straw-, rasp-, blue- and black-berries, pieces of some frozen peaches, grapes, honeydew melon and pineapple (got in an enormous bag of Frozen Fruit Salad, which also had strawberries in it), three huge tablespoonfuls of wildberry no-fat yogurt, a cup or two of pure cranberry/pineapple juice that I mixed myself, a cup or so of pulp-free orange juice, and a helping of echinacea tincture, all blended to an inch of its life and drunk out of a giant blue cup with two bendy straws. It made the coldest, sweetest, most delicious drink. And healthy! Dude, I feel like I could bench press the house.
Oh right, cleaning. See, that's what happens to me - I get so easily distracted. After drinking breakfast, I meandered into my workroom to tidy up - and I ended up cutting up a cardboard box and making a black velvet-covered tray for use when working with beads. The glue is drying now.
I'm really avoiding my laundry and my bedroom, which may have never been clean in living memory. Laundry is impossible because I have no washer/dryer. I suppose I should pack it all up and get a cab to the laundromat. I mean, they'll even wash, dry and FOLD it for me, at no extra charge. It just sucks having to take a cab to do my laundry. I wanna be able to throw it in whenever I need to, and continue cleaning while in my jammies. Or throw in laundry on a tuesday night and watch tv, or do it on my way to work. Stupid laundromat.
