20 hours to go

20 hours, give or take, before I see my love.

It's give or take, because as of 4amAST today, he didn't have a ticket for the last leg home, from Halifax. There was a giant mixup. He figured he'd just get the ticket himself if it wasn't set up by the time he got there.

However, there's a little obstacle. The president of our neighbour to the south, that guy what thinks he's the leader of the free world, when really he's the leader of his own country only? Well, that guy is coming to Halifax Airport tomorrow, to give a 3-year-late thank you speech for the people in the maritimes having opened their homes to stranded passengers during the aftermath of the attack on the towers in New York City. He will be boarding Air Force One, thereby halting all traffic in and out of the airport for half an hour on either side, at precisely the time when Kevin's plane is meant to be landing. Kevin only has half an hour to get the connecting flight home, and no ticket yet to confirm that he will be ON the connecting flight, and with this delay? Argh. Not to mention the crowds of people going to Halifax to protest - it's likely that flight will be full.

If he misses that flight, he has to wait six hours for the next one. After nearly thirty hours of travel, twelve of which were backwards through time, please dear dog in heaven don't make him wait six hours for a flight that's only 55 minutes in length. It wouldn't take six hours for him to drive home from there.

It's odd to think of him being on a plane right this second. I feel a little helpless and even more out of touch than I have for the past fourteen weeks.
