I always get all upset when my favourite people haven’t updated their websites in a while. Um, hello, kettle? This is the pot!
Last weekend, Shauna and I went to Halifax. My plan was to dance at some of the good dance/house bars on Friday night, shop all day Saturday, see some people and have some “coffee" wherein I don’t actually drink coffee but do like to hang out, drive home Sunday and spend all day Monday doing nothing.
Well, I managed to shop, drive home, and do nothing.
See, friday night, the people Shauna came to see and with whom we were staying, wanted to see live music. Well, that’s all fine and dandy, but I wanted dance music. I don’t drink, I hate crowds, I feel ugly and dumpy when surrounded by skinny people. All of that is bearable for dancing, but otherwise? Not so much. Plus, I’d worked half the day and then driven the rest, so I was in bed by midnight.
I got up fairly early and went downtown, where I bought a LOT. Mostly jewellery-making supplies, but also some fun little things just for me. Plus, I got a Divacup for Shauna for her birthday. I wanted a Keeper, which is natural rubber as opposed to silicone, but that company didn’t renew its medical license thingy in Canada and so you can’t get them here anymore.
When I win the lottery, I am going to launch a full-scale media campaign to inform the planet at large that there are alternatives to the plastic-and-bleached-cotton bullshit we’re trained into believing we have to use.
Saturday night, everyone fell asleep and I let them so I wouldn’t have to go out.
Sunday, I panicked while holding several phone numbers. Panic that I’m not nearly clever or smart enough to be in their presence, and that I’d say something stupid and they’d see through my tenuous Public Screen and see the Real Me, and then they wouldn’t be friends with me anymore.
Stupid, I know, and a real insult to those friends, but I just couldn’t bring myself to call them. I have a touch of the social anxiety, I think. So instead we went for dessert at the Fireside and then drove home.
Anyway. These are some of the things that have been happening lately:

The puppy's first toy had not only lost a leg, but had a massive neck wound as well. We tried throwing it out but he went into the garbage can after it, so I performed a little surgery by sewing his head to his chest. After that, the pup chewed the plastic eyes and nose so into contortions he looked alien.

I've been making lots of these lately. I still need to make way way more.

Just because he's cute and he's the most excitement in my life these days.

My man was wrestling with one of his boys. They started out literally on top of me. I had to put my foot on dude's neck to get them off so I could get out. Fun!

Random shot from the past: this is my favourite picture of my two brothers and I. From the looks of it, I'm about.. four? five? This is under the big maple tree in my grandparents' yard. My parents live there now. And so does Shauna! Did I mention that? She's in one of the boarding rooms upstairs. Fun!

And finally, Wee Nubby Humper, because really, is there anything more pathetic than a wet dog?
