I've been in the most magical place on earth.
I was in it three times between friday night and saturday afternoon. I was so excited I dragged everybody I know into it.
It's the Bulk Barn. And it's here, in Sydney. It's magical.
They've got a dozen types of coloured chocolate, another half a dozen types of real live chocolate, a million different candy-making supplies, and oh boy are people getting gourmet chocolate for christmas. I’m already planning a spree on my next paycheck week. You can even buy containers and bags there, for cryin’ out loud. They think of everything.
There's a wet pail section where you can stir and spoon out your own peanut butter - or almond butter - or molasses. You can dispense honey like a slurpee. There are at least twenty types of flour, and that many types of rice, and another half a dozen types of grains that are neither, like kasha and quinoa, that I've never been able to find anywhere else.
There's a whole aisle of candy, which is probably the square footage where kevin will die a happy man (if he ever gets back). I can't wait to show him. I already took Shauna in, and it made her almost as happy as I; I took my mommy later in the day, and she went nuts over the trailmix section.
The variety, the lack of packaging, the ability to get as much - or, more importantly, as little - as you need, the sheer number of organic products - it’s all good. This place is incredible.
I am in so much trouble when the Home Depot opens.
